What is an Oral Health Therapist?

Oral Health Therapists (OHT) are dual qualified in dental therapy and dental hygiene. They provide a wide range of dental care including routine check ups, cleans and restorative treatments (fillings) to all ages. They have extensive knowledge in children’s dentistry. They are also trained to do some orthodontic work (braces) and cosmetic work (teeth whitening).

Vano has been working at Padstow Ideal Dental since 2013. She graduated from Bachelor of Oral Health (USyd) in 2011 and has extensive experience in dentistry, working in the public hospital, private clinics and at specialist Pediatric dental practice. Vano also enjoys teaching and is a clinical educator and instructor at the University of Sydney. She believes in evidence based practice and keeps herself updated by attending various courses and conferences. She strives to create a positive and relaxing environment for her patients. Her friendly and gentle approach makes it a pleasurable experience, especially for those who are nervous or anxious.

Vano is registered with the AHPRA Dental Board and is also a member of the Australian Dental Therapist Association. Outside of dentistry, Vano’s special interests include event decorating and travelling. She is currently learning Spanish.
